What the...?
Here's a little mystery for you--ever seen anything resembling what's in the picture here? If you're thinking it came from outer space, it didn't. I picked it up on the beach in Port Aransas, TX. Before that, according to the Marine Science Institute there, it came from a black drum. Specifically, these are the pharyngeal (throat) teeth of a black drum. For you bubbas like me who are thinking, "I ain't never seen those on a drum," here's the thing. Upon further research I discovered that you can only see these by "lifting off the gill cover" of the fish, which, of course, I've never done.
